Tatsuto Shiina
Electric Bass, Producer, Composition, Arrangement. Born in Japan.
He started playing as a jazz bassist in the Tokyo jazz scene of the mid-80's and since then he has had many gigs with many artists like Naruyoshi Kikuchi, Ryojiro Furusawa, Kosuke Mine, Ann Sally, Takero Ogata(a.k.a. Mundo Novo).
In the late 90's, he put together a Hip-hop/Jazz band called the "ShiinaBand" and in 2002, released a full album called "Tele-Universe~Works that we can do temporally do with HipHop and Jazz~"
In Dec. 2008, as a solo artist, he released a mini online album called "jam & some other stuff (2008-2009)" and a full album "complete jam & some other stuff (2008-2009)" be released on the 24th of June, 2009.

You can feel tense of atmosphere from the one-take session, but at the same time, can feel the wit and humor in their fantastic interplay between the musician.
But it is not simple jam session. His track making talent is well displayed by mixing the source recorded with careful and daring treatment.
Also could find his homage to jazz legends with versions of "Red Clay" (Freddie Hubbard), "Evidence" (Thelonious Monk) and so on.
