In 2006, JariBu Afrobeat Arkestra started their career as an instrumental band based on Afrobeat. "JariBu" means "try" in Swahili. They were strongly influenced by Fela Kuti's music and spirit but, on the other hand, they are pursuing their own original brand of NeoAfrobeat.
In April 2009, their 1st CD Album "Afro Sound System" was released. The album title is also the name of their own event, which is regularly held including a variety of other musicians, creators, food, dance and club DJs.
In July 2009, they played at the "FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL09", and since then their performance has been applauded in many outdoor festivals and clubs.
2010 saw the release of their first 7 inch single titled "Legend of Yoruba part 1&2"
JariBu's live performance is getting more powerful after the addition of chorus section and a dancer.
